Such a fun and informative episode! Vegan fitness model Mindy Collette joined me in house — here we are! — and we open the show with a really helpful and info-packed interview with the oh, so talented and knowledgable public speaker and media pundit Carol Cox, VLCE. Listen in to get fit, improve your effectiveness as a speaker, and be inspired all at once!

Mindy will be competing with the Plantbuilt Team in Austin later this month. Plantbuilt cofounder Giacomo Marchese shared this with us, and I read it on the show:
“Regarding fitness, for me it is about quality of life. As we age, our bodies break down. Both mentally and physically. Fitness helps be build more pathways in my brain and body which keeps it more active. And that has carryovers into everything that I do. Also, after 35 years or so of living, we begin to lose muscle mass and that process accelerates the older we get. Fitness is my pursuit for the fountain of youth. It aids me in reversing the process of aging. More so physically than mentally but both see a benefit. And the endorphin rush I receive while training is also a nice chemical reaction that I look forward to on a consistent basis too. Eventually we all succumb to natures way of cleansing the earth. But I want the process to be as gracious and it can be and I want to feel good while it’s happening.”
And I recommend a wonderful book: The Dominion of Love: Animal Rights According to the Bible, by Norm Phelps — an essential read for any vegan who is Jewish or Christian or who talks about veganism and animal rights with Jews or Christians.
Blast(s) from the past: From the very recent past, we have Carol Cox‘s first visit to our program with Part 1 of her interview on public speaking/media training for vegan activists and entrepreneurs: http://www.unity.fm/episode/MainStreetVegan_041917. And building muscle from a guy’s point of view was covered in this episode with vegan bodybuilder Robert Cheeke, who introduced Mindy to veganism: http://www.unity.fm/episode/MainStreetVegan_080713.
