Tracye McQuirter was named a National Food Hero, changing the way America eats for the better, by Vegetarian Times, and her best-selling book, By Any Greens Necessary, established her as one of the most influential vegans in the country. A thirty- year vegan, Tracye recently created the first-of-its kind, free African-American Vegan Starter Guide in partnership with Farm Sanctuary. She is also a co-founder of several organizations including We Feed People, and serves as an advisory board member for the Coalition for Healthy School Food, Black Vegans Rock, and the PlantPure Nation Foundation.
Mary McQuirter is a thirty-year veagn who continues to be healthy, fit, and active at eighty-one. Mary works with her daughter, Tracye, to teach vegan nutrition classes to seniors in Washington, D.C. She is also an avid quilter and teaches classes at her local senior wellness center where she takes exercise classes five days a week.
